If you would like to join our exciting action group, the Woke EQualizers (for all ages, including children, youth and adults), and become a Woke EQualizer yourself, email us at globalwokeinstitute@gmail.com. Here is more information on what a Woke EQualizer is and what we do:

Woke EQualizers: A movement of superheroes who have committed to non-violently EQualize bullies and bullying in all its forms, including the Triple Evils (institutionalized bullying), and who are building Beloved Community to protect and defend those bullied and rid the world of bullying and the Triple Evils of racism, poverty, and militarism forever, though the Beloved Community solutions of oneness, equity, and peace.

EQualized/EQualizing: Whenever someone, some group, or some nation expresses in thought, word or deed unfounded superiority claims over another—based on their race, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, etc.—which is the foundation of all bullying, they will be shown through non-violent but firm, direct words and deeds that they are not superior and actually suffer an inferiority complex, self-hate, and delusions of grandeur due to the fact that they have to invent fake superiority claims to feel good about themselves or their country. In a word, they are EQualized. In a personal sense, EQualizers will also EQualize themselves daily to stay humble and make sure that they are not exalting themselves above others, by listening to and learning from anyone and everyone, especially those they disagree with, and trying to bring empathy, healing, and unity, in the spirit of oneness and reconciliation. However, sometimes they may have to exercise “tough love” in order to defend individuals and groups from immediate bullying, but the ultimate goal is still always healing and reconciliation.

“Every imperfect soul is self-centered and thinketh only of his own good. But as his thoughts expand a little he will begin to think of the welfare and comfort of his family. If his ideas widen still more, his concern will be the felicity of his fellow citizens; and if they widen still more, he will be thinking of the glory of his land and of his race. But when ideas and views reach the utmost degree of expansion and attain the stage of perfection, then will he be interested in the exaltation of humankind. He will then be the well-wisher of all men and the seeker of the weal and prosperity of all lands. This is indicative of perfection.”(´Abdu’l-Bahá, /Selections from the Writings of ´Abdu’l-Bahá/, p. 68)

Revised “About US” Manifesto, Mission Statement and Guiding Principles:

This existing, inexorably, and irreparably corrupt, racist, classist, terroristic, materialistic, misogynistic, militaristic system—which is the “old world order”–was founded to protect only the elite  through any oppressive and violent means necessary and continues to do so with precision through its past and present, entrenched, divisive neoconservative and neoliberal capitalist practices and policies.  The extreme conditioning Americans have received, from every institution in this system, causes us to believe that it is somehow “normal”, or even “exceptional”, and fixable, hence the need for  new or renewed free and “woke”, universal  and sovereign states of mind, body and spirit, individually and collectively, to free us from this conditioning and lead us to the ultimate goal of ONENESS, which equals “Wokeness” in our new vernacular.  ( Yes, we are using the popularized “Woke” concept, regardless of any connotations it may conjure, as it means, in our context, “awakening, wakefulness, and enlightenment” to the reality of ONENESS and the American and global socio-economic and political divisive realities expressed above, as well as to our own personal self-awareness and development as wholistic beings, in relation to all living things.) We do not apologize for this deliberate bias, as everyone, especially Americans, growing up under the indoctrination of this systemically corrupt system, must be reprogrammed, to one extent or another, in order to achieve a “sovereign psyche” and a ONENESS re-orientation. In the course of this Institute, you will determine that extent for yourself, without pressure or judgement, as no one can or should do it for you, so it is “self-reprogramming.” Also, in this context “sleep” or being “asleep” is not a bad thing, if it mimics physical sleep and is only one third or fourth of our days, as we need some degree of self-care, however too much sleep renders us self-absorbed and not open to the realities expressed above and around us, affecting other living beings.

Guiding Principles:

  1. Oneness:  There is only one race of humans—the human race— we are all connected in a “network of mutuality” (MLK), and an injustice to one is an injustice to all, both spiritually and practically, as no one can reach their full potential when the opportunity to do so is withheld from another. This oneness also extends beyond humans to all living things which are bound together in symbiotic synergies which must be learned, respected, nurtured, and sustained, just as our human relationships are.
  2. Sovereignty: True freedom is attained only when every human is afforded the opportunity to think for themselves, to use all the tools available to independently investigate truth and knowledge for themselves, and to develop a “sovereign psyche” and mentality(Aharone) —a sovereign state of mind, body, and spirit, free from the manipulative control and conditioning of systems and others.
  3. Unity in Diversity,  not in conformity. Every person, culture, nation is unique and has unique capacities and gifts to contribute to their own well-being and that of the world.
  4. Intersectionality & Equity:  “Until the lion learns how to write every story will glorify the hunter”.(African Proverb) The lions have learned to write and will now not only be allowed but encouraged to tell their story, so the voices of the women, and the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) will be promoted and prominent in every undertaking and role.
  5. Servant Leadership/Decolonization : A servant-leader focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong.  The servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps all people develop and perform as highly as possible. ‘Just as individuals can become servant leaders, so must nations (rather than rulers , colonizers, empire builders). America’s greatness lies in its diversity—the most diverse nation on earth—and its destiny is to servant- lead the world in this regard, embracing its own unity in diversity (still a major work in progress), and promoting and supporting oneness and unity in diversity world-wide (the opposite of its present foreign policy of exploitation and attempted domination).
  6. Equality of Men & Women: Until there is equal opportunity for women, and  they are valued and their rights protected, equal to men, the whole world will be out of balance and  there will not be peace on earth or the proper development of humanity, as mothers are the first educators and nurturers of human-kind, and are equally capable in government, enterprise, academia, science, technology, agriculture, and every arena of human development.

WHAT IS THE “ GLOBAL WOKE INSTITUTE” It is a guided but self-paced, self-directed, and self-evaluated educational journey with tools to help you determine “How Woke Am I—really” and “How Woke Do I Really Want to Be” (as we all need some sleep 😊), on your path to ONENESS.

Some of the subject matter areas will include:  ONENESS orientation; servant leadership; economic democracy/cooperation; anti-racism; world citizenship; democratic/horizontal assembly/consensus group decision-making;  wholistic personal/family/community development; spirituality/religion, politics, history, the environment.

This guided educational journey will use the tools of both traditional and innovative/digital learning activities, from a global perspective, including but not limited to: Questions & Answers; Instructional Podcasts and Videocasts; Self-administered Tests; Games; Personal Scorecards.  Guidance will be provided by instructors/mentors/subject matter experts from around the world, with an emphasis on women, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) “lions” and “lionesses”, as it is time for the lion to tell the story.

Why the Ukraine Crisis Is the West’s Fault:

Everywhere we go in our quest for world domination we screw things up and millions die or are harmed, and then we blame the victims and invent other perpetrators, when we are really at fault. Here are some articles which clearly explain how we are to blame for this current conflict and the resulting misery of millions:

A must watch: The REAL MLK: https://youtu.be/AJhgXKGldUk This is the real MLK which most Americans conveniently forget, speaking of the third “triple evil”, militarism, beyond civil rights and racism , calling for human rights for ALL PEOPLES OF THE WORLD and the cessation of American imperialism, terrorism and warfare around the world, and the fact that American racism and poverty will never end here until we end the greatest evil of American militarism against the poor and people of color of the nations of the world.

https://books.google.com/books/about/Davos_Man.html… HOW THE BILLIONAIRES ARE DESTROYING THE WORLD :A must read on how the wealthy elite are keeping and increasing the gross inequities between the 99% and the 1%, while giving lip service to non- “solutions” which only enable them to grow and retain their inordinate wealth, at the expense of the masses. (If you would rather watch a related video, Google the author, Peter Goodman, whose YouTube videos are excellent!)

How we reply to our detractors: “We are well aware that some people may prefer to remain asleep in their bubbles of delusion, and we apologize for disturbing your sleep–however it would behoove you to awaken a bit gently and gradually through this exposure to truth and knowledge (found on our website http://www.HowWokeAmI.org) rather than the rude awakening which takes place when your bubble is burst–and IT WILL BE–whether by Man/Woman, Nature or God (as you understand him/her).”

Discussion on Equality from our Global Woke Institute FB group:

MR If we are not equal in aptitude, we are not equal in upbringing, and we are not equal in usefulness, which many are not. What are we equal in? are we equal in what we deserve, or is my question not rational, at this time in history?

Global Woke Institute MR, Thanks for your thoughtful comment and question. There are many things we are or should be equal in—and who defines “aptitude”: are you talking about intellect, emotional intelligence, the capacity to love and be loved. And we agree that there is no such thing as absolute equality in anything, but there is an essential oneness which binds us together with all human beings, and really all living things, proven by both science and religion, and any other standard and tool we have.. That is what we have to explore and revisit, and build our systems of education, economics, government and other institutions upon. (And there are plenty of models of this we can learn from, including both ancient Native American and African and European cultures, as well as modern ones.) And yes, equity before equality–meaning equal opportunity for everyone to develop their innate talents and capacities–regardless of race, class, gender, etc. Those are some places to start–and, as I’ve said, there are models, mostly outside of the U.S., where this is successfully accomplished–where there is more equity, equality and justice. Our Global Woke Institute will be learning from and sharing these models, and actually initiating some in communities in the U.S. since it is high time we realize we don’t have all the answers and need to learn from others.

A Solution to the Housing Crisis: Social Housing For All: (link to full paper) A Vision For Thriving Communities, Renter Power, and Racial Justice

Social Housing For All (Link to Video): A Vision For Thriving Communities, Renter Power, and Racial Justice

To create a more equitable housing system, we must massively expand social housing: a public option for housing that is permanently affordable, protected from the private market, and publicly owned or under democratic community control. All levels of government must create public, non- profit means of housing finance, construction, management, and ownership to counter real estate speculation—rather than using our public funds to enrich for-profit speculators, private developers, and corporate landlords. Government policy should develop and maintain social housing by employing organized labor and creating union jobs. And we must ensure that systems of democratic accountability center low-income communities of color, renters, and the most marginalized residents in decision-making and control over resources. The implementation of social housing must redress inequity and exclusion; only through accountability to marginalized communities will social housing programs truly serve their interests

The Problem with “Socialism”

There are a lot of good things about “socialism” as an economic system. For instance, in this country some of the positive “socialist” advances have included Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Public Housing, Credit Unions, Agricultural Coops, Housing Coops, Food Coops, Worker-Owned Business Coops. Then why such angst around the term “socialism” ?

We think we’ve figured out the problem. It is trauma associated with a word–based on one’s personal experiences and/or perceptions and conditioning. In this case the word “socialism” is used by manipulative politicians and pundits to scare the heck out of those who have been traumatized by a version of socialism, or of those who have not experienced it but have the perception of such trauma based on false propaganda. In order to help dispel these traumas and myths, let’s first simply define the term and it’s versions, and then abandon it for a new less threatening and manipulated term. Socialism is an economic system and not a political or governing system, just as capitalism is–both dealing with means and ownership of production, with private/public ownership of common spaces, with regulation of currencies, and other economic issues. When combined with a governing system there are basically two types of socialist countries–Authoritarian Socialist (e.g. Russia, China, Cuba) or Democratic Socialist (most of Europe, Canada, and, growing in the U.S.). Since now many countries are combining socialist policies and practices with capitalist ones, there are now several versions of capitalism—-Authoritarian Capitalist (Russia, China, Eastern European countries, and to some extent the US where there are not free but government manipulated markets favoring the elite, the wealthy, and corporations), and what we will call Libertarian or Democratic Capitalism (with less government market control and truly free markets; most of Europe, and to a lesser extent, the US). So what we are seeing is a mixture of the best parts of socialism and capitalism, especially successful in western Europe–where there is less fear, manipulation and propaganda relating to socialism (since it has worked there for so long and so well), so maybe it is time for us to coin new terms to describe optimum economic and political systems in order to free people’s minds and fears—perhaps: Democratic Social Capitalism, or Democratic Capital Socialism, or Libertarian Social Capitalism, or Libertarian Capital Socialism. Just some thoughts on how we can take the “boogeyman” out of economics and politics and start to learn how to unite and work together rather than be divided by old terms and rivalries.
